Frankenweenie

Many say that a dog is a man’s best friend, but what happens when your beloved pet meets his maker. Are the days of “fetch” and “roll over”… over? From Disney, Tim Burton’s upcoming 3D animated film, Frankenweenie, shows that a dog can really “play dead.” A remake of his original 1984 short film, Burton tells the story of Victor. A boy who decides to revive the life of his departed dog, Sparky. Victor tries to keep Sparky’s new life a secret, but word of his creation spreads and stirs chaos in his town. This parody of the 1931 film, Frankenstein, will be the first black and white and stop-motion duo film to be released in IMAX 3D. Burton used many of the artists and crew from Corpse Bride to participate in the project. The film is scheduled for release in October 2012. Do you think it’s going to be a treat or is the audience going to “leave it?”
