Pandas on the Prowl

If someone overheard you talk about the pandas in San Francisco, they might think you are referring to the person below.

For those of you who have been keeping up with baseball, you may have heard that the San Francisco Giants won the World Series! #48, Pablo Sandoval was announced as this year’s World Series MVP. Many fans know of him as “The Panda” due to pitcher Barry Zito giving him the nickname “Kung Fu Panda” after the broad Sandoval acrobatically jumped over a tag from another player.

Besides the famous “Panda” Sandoval, another famous pleasantly plumped Panda that comes to mind for animation fans is Po from Dreamworks’ Kung Fu Panda.

If you have 22 minutes to spare, feel free to watch Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Masters. It was a animated short film created in 2011 that is mostly made up of traditional animation. It won an Annie Award for Best Animated Special Production in 2012.
